About Us
Farmers at Heart, Communities in Mind
Who We Are
Kombii Spring Farms is a community-driven agriculture project rooted in Bungoma, Western Kenya. More than just a farm, we are a movement committed to fighting hunger, improving food security, and empowering farmers and families. We provide fresh milk, eggs, fish, poultry, pigs, traditional vegetables, and other farm products, while training youth, women, those living with disabilities, and smallholder farmers in sustainable practices that nourish both people and the planet.
Our Story: Kombii’s Journey
The story of Kombii Spring Farms begins with the personal journey of our founder, Kombii Nanjalah. As the firstborn of eight children, she grew up on her family farm under the guidance of her late grandfather, who taught her to graze cattle, plough fields with oxen, and live closely connected to the land. Her dedication to farming earned her the honorary title of Princess of Sirandafu, Bokoli Location.
But Kombii’s childhood was also shaped by hardship. She knows the reality of food scarcity, having grown up eating little or nothing at times. Today, with her fridge full and her farm flourishing, she carries these lessons forward. Her journey from scarcity to abundance fuels her mission to show communities the beauty and dignity of farming.
Kombii is also the force behind the Sirandafu Farmers’ Market Association (SFMA), where she mentors young farmers, advocates for fair policies, and highlights the financial struggles of small growers. She has extended her vision beyond Bungoma, visiting arid and drought-prone regions to explore how sustainable farming models can help tackle hunger and food insecurity in some of the world’s most vulnerable areas.
